Founding father retires

Eckart Gundelfinger leaves the CBBS Board of Directors

At the end of the year, Prof. Dr. Eckart Gundelfinger has left his seat on the Board of Directors and the position as CBBS spokesman with a view to his approaching retirement. He was instrumental in the establishment of the CBBS, its establishment and its continuous development. Already now, the CBBS can look back on an impressive 14-year success story - decisively shaped by the renowned neurobiologist.

The entire CBBS would like to express its sincere thanks for the many years of cooperation, his commitment and his special support.

Stefan Pollmann will take over the position on the Board of Directors until the end of the regular term of office. He was already a CBBS Directorate member from 2015 to 2018 and is looking forward to supporting the CBBS again.

The Board of Directors in the CBBS comprises up to 10 members, of which at least 8 members must be full-time professors of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and/or directors of the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology. The medical, molecular biological, physiological, behavioral biological and psychological fields of work in the CBBS are represented by at least one member in the board of directors.

The Board of Directors coordinates the research projects to be carried out within the CBBS and advises the spokespersons of the CBBS on the strategic development and allocation of research funds.
