Parliamental evening of 'Landesexzellenzzentrum CBBS'
On April 2nd, 2014, the first parliamentary invite evening of CBBS took place at the Kaiser-Otto-Hall in the cultural historical museum of Magdeburg. The evening was dedicated to the theme how can efficiently organized neuro-scientific research 'made in Saxony-Anhalt' provide incremental value for the state and provide solutions for future social challenges that we face, such as demographic change.
Attendees were amonst others: Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Ernst TH. Rietschel, chairman of the Berlin Institute for health studies (BIG) and steering committee member of the German Academy of technical sciences; the vice chancellor of the Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, Prof. Dr. Jens Strackeljan; The chief minister of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, Dr. Reiner Haseloff; and the mayor or the state Capital Magdeburg, Dr. Lutz Trümper.
Under the motto "Excellence in Applicability – how the state of Saxony-Anhalt benefits from neurosciences" the guests were offered an ambitious program consisting of impulse presentations and short lectures.
