Prof. Dr. Johann Steiner
Medical Faculty,
Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg

Prof. Johann Steiner is part of the team at the University Hospital for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. The clinic's research focuses on the role and causes of brain processes in the development of psychiatric disorders, particularly changes in the structure and function of neural networks. Advanced imaging technologies, circuit research, state-of-the-art omics methods, artificial intelligence, and the clinic-internal large brain and bio-database form the basis for this. National and international partnerships - including with the German Center for Mental Health (DZPG), the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), the Leibniz Institute for Neuroscience (PsychCircuits, LIN), the University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA, USA), and the Allen Institute for Brain Science (Seattle, WA, USA) – enable the clinic to engage in lively scientific exchange with various leading research institutions.
