During his tenure, Prof. Jochen Braun researched the collective dynamics of neural activity at all levels. At the perceptual level, attempts were made to identify dynamic architectures that can reproduce the stochastic timing of perception in human observers. At the level of the whole brain, he investigated how different (stationary) task conditions change the correlation structure of functional imaging activity. And at the level of spiking populations, he explored how different connection topologies can improve the representation of inputs.
