Prof. Junne moved in April 2021 from the Excellence University of Tübingen to the University of Magdeburg and has since held the chair for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at the Faculty of Medicine and has been leading the University Clinic for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy as Clinical Director. At the Faculty of Medicine, he has been part of the Faculty Board as Vice Dean for Research since November 2021. The focus of his department is on translational intervention and psychotherapy research, health services research, as well as the further development of implementation research in the field of mental health. In this context, Prof. Junne is also a PI at the German Center for Mental Health at the Central German site of the DZPG (Magdeburg-Jena-Halle). Research projects by Prof. Junne were funded, among others, by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS), through the Innovation Fund of the Federal Joint Committee (GBA), as well as by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). His work has received multiple awards, including the prestigious Hans Roemer Prize for Psychosomatic Medicine in 2020.
