My research investigates how humans navigate through space and how spatial memory changes during healthy aging and in the earliest stages of Alzheimer’s disease. I combine immersive virtual reality, behavioral testing, neuroimaging, and computational approaches to study the cognitive and neural mechanisms that support orientation, path integration, and the use of environmental cues. By linking experimental measures with clinical and biological markers, my work aims to contribute to earlier detection of cognitive decline and to a better understanding of resilience in aging.
