Prof. Thomas Wolbers leads the research group Aging, Cognition & Technology at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases e.V. Magdeburg. His research uses the great potential of Extended Reality (XR) technologies to a) better understand the mechanisms of healthy and pathological aging, b) develop XR-based diagnostic tools to measure cognitive health, and c) implement technology-based interventions for the treatment of emotional and cognitive deficits. In addition, he maintains an international collaboration network to expand his research portfolio through computational modeling, software engineering, and research on animal models of aging.
