Prof. Ariel Schoenfeld is the head of the Department of Experimental Neurology and holds the Chair of Experimental Neurology and Functional Imaging at the Faculty of Medicine of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, as well as the medical director of the Schmieder Clinics Heidelberg. He deals with the neural mechanisms of perception and evaluation of visual information in healthy subjects and patients with lesions in the central nervous system. The focus of the research is on basic scientific, but also clinical-pathological aspects, which are investigated using non-invasive neuroimaging methods (structural and functional MRI, as well as high temporal resolution EEG and MEG).
