Michael Brosch

Prof. Michael Brosch leads the research group Comparative Neuroscience at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology Magdeburg. The overarching goal of the research group is to understand the neural mechanisms underlying the temporal integration of auditory information. To this end, he and his team use a comparative approach with complementary measurements of the activity of large neuronal populations in the auditory cortex and related brain structures, alongside simultaneous magnetoencephalography and electroencephalography recordings from humans and from small populations obtained through intracranial microelectrode recordings from non-human primates. The research group develops complementary experimental approaches designed to be applicable to both studies with humans and with monkeys.
