Prof. Kristine Krug came to the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in 2019 as a Heisenberg Professor and Chair of Sensory Physiology. In her research program, she studies the neural circuits and mechanisms of perceptual decision-making. Her long-term scientific goal is to understand and control the neural signals that shape perception and decision-making from the level of individual brain cells to mental states. She is currently a member of the Editorial Board of eLife, Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Primate Center (DPZ), and a visiting professor at the University of Oxford.
