Prof. Kolja Schiltz completed, after his medical studies, training in neurology and psychiatry at the University Hospital of the University of Magdeburg starting in 2000, where from 2006 he engaged in scientific work on forensic-psychiatric issues and began creating forensic-psychiatric assessments. From 2009, he specialized in forensic psychiatry. On September 1, 2016, Kolja Schiltz took over the leadership of the Department of Forensic Psychiatry at the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the University of Munich. The focus of his scientific interest is on the multifactorial causes of aggression and violence, with a particular emphasis on neurobiological factors and risk modulators/prediction, the neurobiological and psychosocial conditional factors of forensically relevant changes in sexual orientation, as well as ethical and legal questions related to mental illnesses.
