Dr. Katharina Rufener is a research associate at the University Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, and Psychosomatic Medicine of Childhood and Adolescence at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. She leads a research project on the effects of transcranial electrical stimulation in children and adolescents diagnosed with developmental dyslexia. In doing so, she is developing an intervention that can be independently carried out at home by the patients and their caregivers. In addition, she is interested in electrophysiological biomarkers in dyslexia and their potential as diagnostic criteria. Her main expertise lies in the field of non-invasive brain stimulation of the human auditory system, including speech and language processing.
