Prof. Jörg Bock focuses on early negative experiences and their impact on the development of functional brain systems and behavioral strategies. He uses various animal models of early-life stress as an environmental challenge to induce symptoms of disorders such as depression or ADHD. His experimental approaches include comparing vulnerability and resilience, sex-specific effects, and the transgenerational transmission of epigenetic and behavioral changes by combining molecular and cellular techniques with functional imaging and behavioral pharmacology.
