Prof. Ildiko Rita Dunay is the head of the Institute for Inflammation and Neurodegeneration at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. Her main research expertise lies in the functional characterization of resident and recruited immune cell subsets in the periphery and in the central nervous system in models of infection-induced neuroinflammation. In particular, her group focuses on studying the communication between innate immune cells and neurons.
