Professor Georg Reiser retired at the end of March 31, 2014, after having worked for almost 20 years as the director of the Institute of Neurobiochemistry at the Medical Faculty of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. Professor Reiser devoted himself for many years to his role as a university teacher in research and teaching, as chairman of the Research Commission from 1995 to 2001, and as spokesperson of the NBL program from 2001 to 2008.
