Eike Budinger


Prof. Eike Budinger studied biology at the Humboldt University of Berlin with a focus on zoology, behavioral biology, and microbiology, and subsequently at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology Magdeburg in the department "Acoustics, Learning, and Speech" with Prof. Henning Scheich, where he investigated the functional organization of the auditory cortex. Since then, he has been a research associate at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology in the areas of acoustics, learning, and systems physiology as well as at the Medical Faculty of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. Since 2005, he has led the project group "Functional Neuroanatomy" and since 2017 the 9.4 Tesla "Small Animal MRI Laboratory." He habilitated in 2015 at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Otto von Guericke University and was awarded the title of an honorary professor in 2021.
