Prof. Dr. Dirk Schlüter

The focus areas of Prof. Dirk Schlüter's scientific work include infection immunology and pathogenetic research, primarily in the field of experimental central nervous system infections. Additionally, Prof. Schlüter is engaged in studies on the function of brain-resident cells in inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system and the investigation of microbially induced autoimmunity in the central nervous system. As a reviewer, Prof. Schlüter works for numerous international scientific journals as well as for research funding organizations (German Research Foundation, Swiss National Science Foundation, Medical Research Council (UK), among others). In 2004, Prof. Schlüter accepted a position at the University of Magdeburg and moved to the Hannover Medical School in 2018.
