Prof. Dr. Dietmar Rösner

Prof. Rösner was one of the first professors at the Faculty of Computer Science of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, founded in 1990, and was appointed Professor of Applied Computer Science at the faculty on July 1, 1995. Previously, he carried out scientific work at the University of Stuttgart, the Gesellschaft für Mathematik und Datenverarbeitung mbH, Darmstadt/St. Augustin, and at the Research Institute for Applied Knowledge Processing (FAW) in Ulm. His work at the Faculty of Computer Science is, among other things, associated with the development and establishment of an e-learning system: eduComponents E-Learning Components for Plone, which was successfully used in the basic teaching of computer science. Additionally, he was involved in the application for and throughout the entire duration of the Collaborative Research Center SFB Transregio 62 in cooperation with the University of Ulm. Prof. Rösner received IBM-UIMA Innovation Award prizes in the years 2006 and 2007. In 2016, Prof. Rösner retired.
