During her tenure, Prof. Anna Katharina Braun was interested in developmental neurobiology, neuronal plasticity, epigenetics, and functional imaging. She dealt with the influence of early childhood emotional experiences, deprivation, and neglect on the development of the brain and behavior, and their relevance for the onset, prevention, and therapy of mental disorders. Furthermore, she examined the cellular mechanisms of experience- and learning-induced synaptic plasticity.
