Anna Karpova

Dr. Anna Karpova is the scientific project leader in the research group "Neuroplasticity." With profound expertise in molecular and cellular neurobiology, she investigates the structural and functional organization of chemical synapses. Her research focuses on the mechanisms of intracellular protein and membrane transport over long neuronal distances and their effects on neuronal function, learning, and memory. To advance these studies, she uses state-of-the-art genetic and imaging techniques, including time-lapse confocal microscopy, two-photon microscopy, and super-resolution imaging.
