Psychological Methodology

Magdeburg offers an excellent infrastructure for brain research and has produced open-data resources that are unique worldwide, such as the studyforrest dataset. However, analysing this dataset is technically demanding and requires extensive expertise as well as suitable computing power, which limits the cost-effective reuse of the data in a clinical context. The project is therefore developing a platform that provides core elements for the user-friendly re-analysis of published fMRI data. It minimises technical hurdles, allows users to import their own datasets and enables valid, reproducible studies. The software runs on existing site infrastructure, enabling institutions without their own technical resources – such as universities of applied sciences, clinics or schools – to utilise complex time-series data for research, development and training. It strengthens the transfer of research into clinical applications, whilst enhancing Magdeburg’s visibility as a major imaging hub.
